STOP THAT

WHAT TABLE CLOTH???? I have nothing in my mouth - Honest!!!

Mishka has found the joy of sucking on the table cloth corners. She is really mad now because I have folded them under and now her new toys are gone. Instead she has turned her attention to my pant legs, the hanging dishcloths, the table legs, cabinet corners - you get the idea - anything that she can put in her mouth ! If you think teething is fun in kids at least they do not come up and take a bit out of your ankle...... Wait my first son Nick did that - maybe humans and goats are closer in behavior then we thought - at least at my house

Do You Feel Something Evil Watching ?

To say that Clem is NOT HAPPY that Mishka is in the house is to understate the problem. If he is not giving her the evil eye, he is putting his butt in her face, pushing her aside when I come into the room, hits her on the top of her head while she sleeps in my arms and a whole host of other childish acts. I can say that he does not want to be the Big Brother or share attentions with the two legged Mom. Some might think that animals do not do such petty things - come to my house and watch his masterfull plan. He even tried to pee on her the other day while she slept at my feet. Now don't get me wrong, Clem has not been forgotten with the little one in the house. I spend hours petting, combing, snuggling and sleeping with Clem. He has full run of the house and gets kinds words everytime I see him - Clem is just locked in the ONLY CHILD role BIG TIME.......

Even as I type this Clem is sitting grawling at the door which has Mishka on the other side sleeping. I reminded him that he always could try and share the house with one of the Great Pry Dogs (all 135 pounds of teeth and fur)who would love nothing more then to PLAY with him awhile. Why Oh Why Can't We All Live Together in Peace and Separate Rooms???

PLEASE HELP ME REACH THE ITCH

Don't you just hate it when you have an itch and you just can not reach it? Mishka tried so hard to get that little itch that I thought her head was going to pop off. Finally, I stepped in and we had a scratching secession that lasted about 10 minutes. I feel for her because all this dry weather in Colorado does a number on everyone's skin. For bottle kids it is harder on their skin because they do not get all the fat that is in mother's milk so I gladly scratch until she grins and falls asleep. Great to have a friend with fingers.......

Been a VERY BUSY couple of days

I am sorry for the delay but it has been very busy around here. Mishka has had some ups and downs for the past couple of days so my attention was in her care. Her temp is normal now and she drank this morning about three ounces of milk. I was very worried for awhile because I have never had a kid do so many peaks and valleys but I keep plugging away and hugging her as much as she wants. Last night we curled up on the couch and got almost three hours of sleep -BOY DID THAT FEEL GREAT......

At five this morning she had two ounces and went back to sleep in my arms while I made me breakfast. I had hoped to take her out with me this morning during chores but the wind is so strong I am having troubles walking so she is next to the space heater resting.

I thank everyone for their kind words and I promise new pictures soon. I went to take the camera on chore rounds this morning but forgot the disk in the house. I told you I NEEDED MORE SLEEP........

Blending IN is the New Plan

If I hold very still Mom will never see me - I look like the ground.....

She is walking right past me - She doesn't see me... Either she is getting tired of this game or I am getting really, REALLY, REALLY great at this game !

Not sure what these things are but they just won't move..... The cat seems to run on these but how ? My Legs just don't bend that way......

I found a BETTER spot - Mom will never find me here

Under the bakers rack is the BEST hiding place...

When was the last time she dusted under here? OH NO, I am going to sneeze - keep it in.......KEEP IT IN...... I CAN NOT KEEP IT IN.....

She found me AGAIN ! She is really good at this game. Come to think of it - I think she picked the game, next time I pick the game. It is only fair because I am the youngest, cutest and goat's RULE...

Hide and Seek My Favorite Game

I know Mom will never find my in here......
How does that cat do it? I am going to get in......... I am going to get in.....
I made it !!! I can hear Mom - she is really getting loud now.......
Why is she calling my name so loud ?

She found me
..... I better run and find a new spot...... THIS IS FUN

Look what I have in my laundry basket

On Wednesday Masquerade gave birth to twin girls - much to my surprise. Early that week I had scoped her to see if she was expecting because she has a very large hay belly. For those who do not know what that means is it like a middle age belly - too many kids, loss of many teeth and the hands of time. None of us have our girlish figure any more. I could not find any heart beats so I considered her baby free - WRONG ! Anyway, as I came in for afternoon chores there was Masquerade with a small little one on the ground and the next coming out and hitting the ground. I noticed that one was not breathing so I grabbed her, turned her upside down and expelled all the fluid and cleared the mouth. She took a few clear breaths and I placed her back with Mom. I quickly moved Mom and babies to a clean kidding pen and got everyone feed and water. In that ten minutes the troubled girl was back in distress. I ran and got a the emergency kit and started in on her - heating her with the hair dryer, clearing her windpipe and tubing her to give her warmed milk. As soon as I got her stable I wrapped her in a blanket and ran for the house. The littlest of the set was nursing away and walking on her own.

Once I reached the house it was three more hours of restarting her until finally she just did not come back. Then I paniced when I looked at the clock - I had not been able to check on the little one so back I ran to the barn. WHO SAID YOU NEED A GYM - just live on a farm, you get a workout.

I arrived at the barn to see the little one had crashed and was laying in the corner of the pen cold and still. I grabbed her up, tucked her in my coat and ran back to the house. By the time I got her warmed up she was calling for Mom and wanting to go back out. After about an ounce of warmed milk it was back to the barn with Mom and two hour checks.

Thursday was a great day - Mishka is her name and she was small but strong. All day I checked on her and things looked bright until about 4:00 in the afternoon as the clouds became dark and the temperture dropped thirty degress. I came in the barn to find her in the corner again - cold and limp. We had been here before and I was not going to have her go the way of her sister. I spent seven hours teaching her to suck again and getting her to drink, walk and stop shaking. By Friday morning she finally was able to take a bottle and was off the eye droper. As much as I would have loved to send her back to Mom in the barn I just could not risk another crash.

SO HERE IS MY NEW HOUSE GUEST - Is not that the sweetest face?
