Hi Cutie is Spring Coming?

The Colorado sun has been busy here at the farm. The snow drifts are turning into quick sand and where the ground is peeking through it is a muddy swamp that has taken my boot several times. As I was 3/4 the way down the drive I saw the mail man pull up. I am flinging my arms like a wild women trying to run with bags in hand and muck boots sticking with every attempt at speed. I reached him in time and he was giggling as I approached his Jeep. Catching my breath I asked "What is so funny?" He said "Only you would have a Lady Bug stuck to your face Grace"
I thought I had misunderstood him.

I handed my packages over to him and started back up the swamp trail to the house. As I was walking I kept thinking what in the world was he talking about. I swear I have the mail man from the movie named after this farm - you know the drunken nutter (Not saying this guy is like that but we do have a weekend guy who fits the bill). As I came up the stairs and thinking about what to have for lunch this little sweet one moved across my face and onto my eyelashes. I freaked for a second and then took a couple of snaps and set it free outside.

I guess Spring might come after all !!

Way cool! All the birds were singing their hearts out today and I saw one of the Hawks that live in the big tree behind the barn. You are right - I guess spring might actually be on it's way!

Spring is already here! The trees are starting to bloom and the pollen is blowing from the pine tree blooms! I'm sure it will be your way soon!

Sheri How amazing... The birds were churping here too. Reminded me of the Funny Farm movie where first the bird churping out his writing window was great but as his dreams crumble it is like fingernails on a chauk board. I had three crows talking so loud today that you could not think - Oh Noise of a Good Kind!

Jamie I loved reading about your Spring thaw. Get ready for another round of snow today.

Katy - hope your enjoying your Spring experience. We are having thick fog and snow today - interesting how each day can be so different. Are you busy sewing??

Grace -- I love this story of the lady bug! Don't you wish that we could all be as confident about ALL of the blessings of life coming at just the right time, like we are confident about the tulips peeking up through the dirt?! That is the kind of faith I want to have :)

I catch moments of it but then FEAR can raise it's head and I slid back. I work to stay in the present moment and know that I am loved and supported by the universe. Somedays I just say that over and over and over or I get a Lady Bug land on my face...

Kristina - what would one expect from the Funny Farm??? Glad to give the mail man something to laugh about.

Candy I know you have had more peeks into Spring then I have - lucky gal... Today it is gray, thick fog and ice so it was great to have the little one before all this...

Thank goodness Spring has started to spring for you, I think enough is enough and wont it be great to go down to 5 layers of clothes instead of 6, seriously though we can only think of the little lady bug coming out to test the weather, yes its on its way, be careful though taking off that extra layer, stay warm at least for a while longer and have a great day.

I know what you mean Caprejan - I am thankful I have layers unlike my hens who are not happy with all this warm one day bitter the next. I am much like them - stop tempting me it only makes the cold worse. Will keep my head up and press on for today.
