I have a new Assistant

While working to pull the weeds that have gathered their strength just outside my shop I decided to take a small break and go inside for a lite bite. When I returned I found my new garden assistant busy at work. Now mind you, I have been in need of a couple of extra hands to get the weeds under control but I had not placed an ad or even spread the word. I guess Mother Nature heard me mutter to myself and sent someone to assist. You must understand Sweet Fluffy Bunnies are never around the house because of my Great Pry's - hate to say it but they would soon make them dinner. This brave assistant must have need of room and board - it is hard times out there... So I sat in the shop just a bit longer then I had planned so my new assistant could fill it's tummy and gather it's wits. Strange enough the dogs approve, not even a bark - so a new hired hand is amongst the ranks of Funny Farm Hands.. Welcome little one - there are work, weeds and space for all....

i have little baby bunnies in my garden every year.. last year they chopped off my coreopsis flowers...so i assembled an ugly wire fence around them.. this year they left them alone... i mena we have more clover than anything else in our yard!! usually our resident fox ends up getting them. I've done my fair share of raising pet rabbits and abandoned wild babies.. but I love them.. unlike our hounds!!

The chain of who eats whom around here is always up for grabs. I think our fox and coyote have been dinner for the mountain lion which might have left the rabbit in the clear. Just as long as the mountain lion does not cross the line here our he will be a coat for me. I will just be thrilled if this bunny loves to eat my weeds. Anything I try to grow to eat is on my decks - learned that over the years - spent to much time trying to stop voles now I just raise a little on the deck...

What a sweet little bunny. We have a lot of hares, but they don't usually come in my garden. Love your mint - it has a tendency to take over anyway, doesn't it? And I know what you mean with voles, I have hundreds of them. My cats do catch their fair share, but ...

Our dog Storm loved to catch and kill them - she is an American Eskimo but she now lives in town with my oldest son. My pry's can't be bothered too small and not threat to the goats so I think every vole in the county lives here.
