For those who might have forgotten this sweet girl was born Feb 7, 2011 at 3:00 pm to Maggie. She was one of a set of twins. The kids did great but then something went wrong with Maggie the Mom and she stopped nursing them. So in the house the girls went. On the 15th of Feb I sent the girls to live with Mother Goose who lost her baby that day. All was great until one of the girls smacked into the side of the barn while jumping off Mother Gooses back and broke her neck. This left this little girl without her sister. Mother Goose has been a great adoptive mother to her and they have a very close bond. This little girl still loves me to pick her up and give her tons of hugs and kisses. She is very active, loving girl who is part of the group in every way.
So this girl deserves a GREAT NAME!!! She has been through a lot and still remains a shining light.

Ok, I'm going to go with Eleanor. It means shining light or ray of light, which, after all that you wrote about this little one's entry to the world and all that she's perservered, it was your last comment about her, and it struck me.
How about "Idgie" after the character in Fried Green Tomatoes? She was strong and independent, caring and loving and had bounced back after loss.
Greta... This little baby is adorable she looks like a "Greta" to me.
The meaning of the name Greta is 'Pearl'
I can picture her running over when you call her name aloud. LOL
Wishing you the best of luck with your new baby :)

How bout Polly. that name was used a few times in the Mother Goose nursery rhymes.
wi_farmgirl
p.s. I do most crafts, especially spinning.
Chinook - Like the rough winds we are having right now, but in your heart you know spring is just behind them :-)
Angel Blossom-She is such an angel for all she had to endure. Knitting is my craft.
If she were mine I would name her Sweet Pea, That is what my husband has always called our daughter, now 54 years old. She had a pet goat when she was a baby, he was white named Snowflake. We had to have him put to sleep at 17 years of age.
mmm beautiful, I like NOA, means energy in Hebrew... its simple and a short name reminding me of Noah and the Ark, where there was 2 or each animal taken inside, so on one side you can remember she was a twin... and the other she will have the energy and light for both!
I am new to knitting and crocheting and I now live in Siena, Italy. Born in the UK and raised in Zambia, Rhodesia and South Africa!
ps. my email address is nicky@barlucchi.com
how about 'Bella"? she is a beauty thats for sure...I like sewing...
have a great day...Michele' $2622
I would have to say "Precious".
As she sure looks it.
I just thought of Missy Magoo. I was looking at the words Mother Goose and came up with that. Plus her mother's name is Maggie. So Missy Magoo.
And you know I am just itching to get started in spinning in a few weeks, so anything spinning would be so sweet if you were to choose that name for her. All these names are so cute.
Since we are going with a Mother Goose theme here how about Miss Muffet?
Anything spinning or knitting is right up my alley!
"Aggie" was the first name to pop into my head when I saw your post on DenverKnits -- and then I saw her picture! Her coloring reminds me of Agate.

How about Ruth? She lost everything, was adopted by her mother in law, then went on to lead a beautiful life.

Great idea : )
The "goat" of my life was Emmaline,
she won two grandchampion trophies at the Fair and was an excellent milker and mother too. Our farm was called Archwood Acres so we always tried to find a name to flow with that.
Would love anything if I win : )
Janie
To flow with the name of your farm and also be special, how about Bernice? That is the name of the little girl in Hope Floats who tries to fit in...cute for a goat name I think...
Janie again : )
Babette would also be so cute, get it? hehe I love it!
Janie again : )
Okay last post for me...
Brulee, for creme brulee dessert, she looks sweet creamy and yummy you just want to hug her...
you can email me at the google site or chuckandjanie@att.net either one if you need to...
Have a great time naming your sweet baby...
Well she was born in February, how about Valentine...She sure will be loved.
She is white all over, how about "Mashmellow" Fluff and cute!
Alright...I've been thinking of a few more.
How about:
Adeline?
Roma?
Madge?
Dottie?
Dodie? (short for Theodosia, my Great Grandmother's name)
Hazel?
(Can you tell I've been doing a family tree--all ladies I've loved dearly in my life)
and my final offering:
Sweet Lucerne (another name for white clover, which her color reminds me of)
How about Oatey (Oat-e) or Odie or Ophelia (Ophy for short). Sheesh, what's up with those "O" names, eh?
thought of a few more...
Opal
Pearl
Maggy Mae
Clover
Little Miss Spring or Little Miss
:)...Michele' #2622
How about Tullulah? It has two possible origins - one from the Native American meaning "leaping water" and one from the Gaelic meaning "Fruitful woman".
It's been such a windy day and I am thinking of you and all your critters, I liked Chinook, but also thought of Breezy.
I'm a quilter/sewer
I would go with Elayna because it means shining light!
My sisters friend just adopted a 6 year old little girl from Ethiopia. Her parents had both died, we think of aids, and her grandmother cannot raise all the children by herself in her small hut. The grandmother is out of work, as the goverenment has outlawed her profession, female castration!
This little girl has been through so much in her short life as has your little doe. When I was told her name I thought it was the most beautiful I had ever heard, Ameria. It is pronounced ahmaria. I think it is a very fitting name. Lisa Logan
I am a knitter and soon to be spinner! You can contact me through the Maryjane chat! ;)
Oh Grace,
She is just precious. The poor little thing losing her momma and sister. I think Buttercup, it's a sweet name for a sweet girl :)
BTW, I enjoy learning to knit :)
Have a blessed day and thank you for the opportunity to name your baby girl :)
~Sharon (Calicogirl)
Well, I like the name Honey. Not sure why, but she sure looks like a little "Honey."
We have 12 babies to name so far this season....we started out with flower names for the girls 4 years ago. We ran with that as long as we could. LOL
So far this year we have Scout, Patches, Glitter (granddaughter picked Glitter), so only 9 more to name!!!
Love your blog! I enjoy crocheting.
Hope you get to sleep tonight.;)
