Naming Contest Starts NOW

That's Right the Wee One is needing a name..

Here is the information on the Wee One:
** Mother is Miss Marple
** Father is a mystery because all boys where pulled from barns and pastures near the girls at the time that his girl would have been made - were talking several months and on the other side of the farm with seven series of pastures and gates between them - so we are thinking it must be one of those conceptions that there is a star in the sky and three wise men are soon to be at my farm... That or aliens landed and did weird experiments in their mother ship and return Miss Marple with a cute package.
** Born June 15th 2011 around 2:30 in the afternoon. She was born two months after everyone else. Mother never looked like she was expecting and now does not look like she delivered - strange but true.
** Picture of the Wee One is listed on the posting of June 16th - my computer took too long to post a new picture and I am trying to beat the storm coming in before I have to shut down the computer....

RULES of the contest:
1. One name per comment entry but you can enter as many times as you wish - so don't be shy
2. When you place your suggestion for a name please also put what you favorite craft is so I can match the prize with your interest. Here are a few ideas - spinning, knitting, crocheting, weaving, sewing, beading, scrap booking etc. Trust me I have great prizes for all interests so never fear.
3. The time frame for this contest is June 17th 12:00 pm to June 24th 12:00 pm that is Mountain Standard Time.
4. The winner of this naming contest will be posted here on the blog on the same day that the contest ends no later then that evening - as long as the weather does not shut down my computer. Don't need another fried thing a gig because we got hit with lighting - it happens a lot here...

So there it is - PLEASE tell all your friends, family, animal lovers and those who love to win free things.... Good Luck All

Well, you put out there that she is the baby girl of Miss Marple, who hailed from the lovely, idyllic (fictional) village of Mary Mead.

So that's my vote. Mary Mead, because I think you already have an Agatha (Christie) :)

Jonnie sent me!
I love the wee one! I choose the name Siku, which is short for Sikudhani, which means An Unexpected Gift in Swahili. I quilt, art quilts and traditional, and also make dolls.

Nora would like her to be name Tallin for no other reason other than it was a name that she made up! :)

I would like to vote for Madge which was Agatha Christie's sister's name. The Marple family lived close the Madge and experts thing that is one of the ways Agatha Christie came up with that as the name for Ms. Marple.

I say Dana, after the x-file birth and the fact Mulder and Sculy should be paying you a visit on this one. Craft, if I had to pick- crocheting.

Wow, great suggestions all around... I was thinking along the lines of Jonni, with something related to Miss Marple... but since Miss Marple of the books doesn't have a daughter, I was thinking just Miss Terri (Mystery) ;) since her conception was such a mystery... She sure is adorable, whatever name she ends up being called! :)

I vote for Griselda Clement, the vicar's wife in the first, and later, Agatha Christie Miss Marple novels.

I'm glad she is doing well with her mother. I found a great knitting pattern in an old IK for one set of the mohair I got. It's a top down raglan with variable body and sleeve lengths! :)

How about "Cara" which means "loved one"? I know she is certainly that!
As far as a craft - I'm a spinner and knitter.

I think "Miss Miracle" would be a sweet name for her as she is your miracle and your blessing. She should not even be here, but yet here she is! She came at a time Grace when you needed her the most to pick you and keep you going forward. So, that is my name I have chosen.
I keep good thoughts for your Sugar.
Have a beautiful weekend Grace.

Debbie

Miss Marple had a companion named Cherry Baker. Cherry gets my vote! I am a knitter, spinner and weaver.

I think she should be named "Providence" (devine guidance or care. God conceived as the power sustaining and guiding human destiny)

I am a crocheter and beginning knitter.

Hmm...i was thinking, as miss marple didn't have any children, that the lil lady could be named "Rosalind", after Agatha Cristie's daughter. Rosalind means "fair rose", which seems sweet for a baby girl!

Nicole Bottles said...

another thought. rosalind is a very strong literary name, like the woman in As you Like it, or like Uranus' moon. Or an homage to Rosalind Hursthouse, who is quite famous in the field of Virtue Ethics (abortion theories/ethics, based on ancients philosophies), as her conception is a mystery. :) I'm a passionate knitter, sewer and novice spinner.

Fanny Mae comes to mind as the perfect petite girl name! How sweet!

oops, spinner, knitter, quilter, scrapbooker, etc...lol

i also like Meggie, just simple and sweet.

I would say Maggie after Margaret Rutherford who played Miss Marple in 4 movies! You know what I do and like!

Monica - Maggie is the name of the Grandmother so do you want to list another name?

Turtle same with you - name is too close to grandmother so do you wish to post another name?

Remember you can enter as many times as you wish...

Shae (pronounced "Shay") it's Gaelic and one of it's meanings is "From the fairy fort."

If the fairies didn't drop her off in your pasture themselves, they probably had something to do with her mama's indiscretions. ;)

Plus she seems like an impish little pixie in her own right.

I also think it's a good name that works both for a baby, and it will grow with her.

I do a little bit of sewing, but a lot more beadwork and jewelry.

Grace -- was talking to my mother (Carol) about your naming contest... her internet stinks! She asked that I submit Agatha on her behalf. I know that one of the other followers who posted said she already thought you had an Agatha - which was why she picked a different name... but I'm fairly certain that you DO NOT have an Agatha... So that's Carol Dilling's suggestion! My mom is a knitter.

Here is my suggestion - I'm looking at it from a "strong character in a book" context. I've always been a fan of "To Kill a Mockingbird"... my favorite character was Scout. The little girl in the story... So Scout is my vote. Sorry it's not as creative as I wanted it to be... brain is fried this week!
